Location, language and participants
Hurdal is located in the eastern part of Norway, north of Oslo and Oslo Airport. The Hurdalsjøen hotel and conference center is situated 27 km away from the airport.
The official conference language is English. You don’t have to have excellent English skills to participate, however no translation services are provided.
The conference is relevant for everyone, who is working in the field of agricultural/rural occupational health and safety – whether you are working at a university, at a ministry or in an organization, a private company or at a farm, an insurance company, within media or simply have an interest in these issues. The main focus is Nordic working conditions, but we also welcome colleagues from all over the world to attend and participate with presentations in this event!
Scientific program, farm visit and conference topics
The scientific program will include plenary sessions and poster sessions. We plan to create time for discussions in connection with presentations. A countryside tour will be organized to a nearby farm.
The conference is an open forum for different topics relating to occupational health and safety. However, we would appreciate abstracts relating to:
- Systems, Risk management and leadership, Management tools – small enterprises
- Collaboration projects between employers and employees, and Change management
- Intervention methods & studies in order to prevent or minimize work-related injuries and diseases
- Health and Safety education at agricultural college, Child-injury, Migrant workers
- Occupational health & safety services, Safe handling of animals/ machinery, Musculoskeletal disorders & ergonomic solutions
However, please sign up if you would like to do presentations with a different perspective, within the overall topic.
Abstract – May 4th, 2018: Send abstract (maximum 400 words) to email@example.com – by (Friday) April 4th, 2018. You will get information of acceptance by May 25th and you will be able to revise according to further instructions and submit your final extended abstract or a paper by June 10th.
Tuesday, September 11th
Arrival, lunch (at 12-13.30) and plenary session with country reports & discussions
Program starts at 13.30, Evening and dinner at 19:30 p.m. at Hotel Hurdalsjøen.
Wednesday, September 12th
Breakfast, sessions, poster session, lunch, country tour and conference dinner
Thursday, September 13th
Breakfast, sessions, lunch & closing session (program ends no later than 15.00/3.00 p.m.)
The airport is 30 minutes (27km) away from Hotel Hurdalsjøen. Taxis are available from the airport, and there will be organized free bus/ maxi-taxis from the airport to the conferencecenter. More information will be available at the website from April 20th.
Registration and conference-fee
Registration opens April 20th.
Conferense-fee for «early-birds» is 3750 NOK (approxomately 375 Euro), until May 31. The fee will be 4800 NOK (480 Euro) during June and July, and 6000 NOK form August 1th. You are registered as participant when conference-fee is payed, and your accomondation will also be registered.
Accomodation: 3050 NOK (approx. 305 Euro) for 11.-13.9, including meals.
